River Fishing

 As someone who was born and raised on the confluence of the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers, I've been lucky to learn a little bit about the ins and outs of fishing and navigating these riverways.  River Fishing Pros: There's plenty of opportunity to catch larger fish species like sturgeon and musky in the river. There's also an abundance of bottom feeding fish such as carp and catfish which can be a blast to catch. The river can also be stacked with walleye in the right conditions. There is thousands of acres of backwaters that can have some honey holes for bass, northern and perch along the Mississippi. There is also lots of very shallow spots that are perfect for bow fishing. The St. Croix and Mississippi river valleys are some of one of the most beautiful and scenic areas you can go fishing at. Cons: The river can get absolutely packed especially on holiday weekends. There are many large boats that throw a huge wakes and can toss your boat around if your not prepared....
